Sometimes, a painting doesn’t need to make a bold statement to capture our attention. Sometimes, it’s the quieter moments, the gentle colors, and the little details that invite us to pause and take a closer look.

I’m delighted to introduce my newest abstract painting, First Light is now available in my Etsy Shop.

This piece came together through layers of soft blush pink, lavender, coral, and warm golden tones. I love how these colors blend and mingle, creating a dreamy atmosphere that feels both playful and peaceful. Scattered throughout the composition are little clusters of circles, delicate markings, and subtle textures that give the painting its own personality.

As with much of my abstract work, I enjoy allowing the painting to evolve naturally. Rather than having every detail planned from the beginning, I let the colors, textures, and unexpected discoveries guide me along the way. Sometimes, the most interesting elements emerge when I simply let go and enjoy the process.

The title, First Light, felt like a natural fit. It brings to mind the gentle glow of early morning, when soft colors begin to illuminate the sky and the world seems to awaken with a sense of possibility. There’s something about this painting’s delicate palette and playful details that captures that feeling for me.

I hope this painting brings a sense of calm, warmth, and perhaps a little daydreaming to whoever spends time with it. After all, art doesn’t always need to tell us something. Sometimes, it simply needs to make us feel something.
