Finding Forever Homes for Art: An Artist’s Journey

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of knowing one of my pieces has found its forever home. As an artist, it’s such a heartwarming moment when someone connects with a painting I poured my soul into. I’m so grateful every time a collector chooses to bring a bit of my art into their world—it’s truly the best kind of encouragement to keep creating from the heart.

🌸 “Pretty in Pink” is a vibrant acrylic abstract bursting with texture and color. Layers of pinks, purples, and blues come together in a bouquet of joyful energy. This piece was such a delight to create, and it’s an honor to know it’s now brightening someone’s day in a new home.

🌼 “Blooming Whispers” is a cheerful mixed media piece featuring soft watercolor blooms with a dreamy, abstract touch. Hung by a colorful beaded handle and topped with sparkly yarn, this piece has a whimsical charm that always made me smile. I’m so happy it’s now bringing joy to someone else’s space!

Thank you so much to the collectors who supported my work—you made my week! 🥰

If you’re curious about what’s still available, feel free to visit my Etsy Shop and take a peek. I’ve got more blooming beauties and colorful abstracts waiting to be discovered.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have the most amazing weekend!

The Journey of Line Abstracts: Colorful New Creations

I’ve been exploring a new direction in my line abstract series—this time with looser tangles and bolder color choices. These two new 8×8-inch pieces feature playful, wandering pen lines paired with watercolor accents that bring each work to life in its own unique way.

One piece glows with soft, expressive pinks—gentle, airy, and full of warmth. The other makes a bold statement with electric, neon-inspired hues that practically leap off the page. Each began with a single continuous line, twisting and curving freely across the paper. After the lines find their rhythm, I step back and let the shapes suggest where the color wants to go.

It’s always a bit of a surprise—how lines that wander freely and break all the rules still manage to create a sense of quiet. Maybe that’s the beauty of letting go.

There’s more to come in this evolving series, so stay tuned!

Wishing you a bright and creative weekend, and thank you so much for stopping by.

New Line Abstracts in the Studio: Calm in the Chaos

I’ve been working on a fresh series of line abstracts that combine pen work with watercolor accents—and I’m really enjoying the contrast. The first piece features rich jewel tones tucked into a few of the shapes formed by the lines, while the second brings in a calming mix of greens and blues.

Each piece begins with free-flowing pen lines that twist and tangle across the page. Then I pause, letting the organic shapes that emerge guide where the watercolor flows. What people often tell me they love most is how, despite the wild and unpredictable nature of the lines, the finished piece feels surprisingly peaceful to look at.

I have to agree—there’s something truly beautiful about discovering calm within the chaos.

More pieces are on the way as this series continues to unfold.

Wishing you a lovely weekend, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Overcoming Creative Overwhelm: Focus on One Project

Do you ever have so many things on your “to-do” list that it feels overwhelming, and you’re not quite sure where to start? That’s me right now! My studio is buzzing with projects and ideas—more than I can count! But with so much going on, I’m reminding myself to focus on one thing at a time so I can actually get things done.

Today, I’m excited to share one of those “one things” with you: a brand-new mini abstract painting heading to my Flowing Waters Art Shop on Etsy! This tiny treasure is 3×4 inches of vibrant color and joy. I created it using acrylic paints in playful shades of pink, white, and purple, with blue and silver accents. And, of course, I couldn’t resist adding a sprinkle of glitter for that extra bit of sparkly magic.

It’s a little burst of happiness, perfect for a cozy corner of your space or as a unique, handmade gift.

Oh! And if you love mini artwork, keep an eye out—I’ll be adding two more pieces soon: one slightly bigger at 3×5 inches and another at 5×7 inches. I can’t wait to show you!

For now, I’m off to tackle my next project (one step at a time). How about you? Do you ever feel stuck when your to-do list gets too long? Creative Breaks: Studio Life and New Artwork

With the holidays seeming to arrive faster each year, I’ve been super busy managing the ongoing holiday sale and updating my Etsy Shop. Unfortunately, this has left me with limited studio time, which is such a bummer because creating brings me so much joy. 😥

Despite the holiday hustle, I’ve managed to carve out little pockets of time to work on these two abstracts! 😊 The first one, shown above, is a 3×4-inch cutie that’s starting to take shape. The second is a 5×7-inch canvas with a 1.5-inch depth, making it perfect for either shelf-sitting or wall décor. Both need quite a bit more work but I love where they’re going!

There’s still more to do in my Etsy Shop, but I’m prioritizing studio time because it keeps me grounded and happy. I’ve realized that even a small dose of creativity can make such a big difference in my day.

What about you? What do you do to lift your spirits when you need a quick boost?

Thanks so much for stopping by—wishing you a joyful and creative day!

Finding the Finish Line: When to Call a Painting Complete

I’ve been having so much fun creating these smaller abstract paintings lately! This new piece is painted on a 5×5 inch canvas with a textured background in beautiful shades of pink and purple, and I just love how the colors are coming together.

One of the toughest decisions as an artist is knowing when to call a piece finished. It’s so easy to keep adding details and then suddenly feel like the whole thing has gone sideways! That’s exactly where I am with this one. I think it’s finished, but I’m not sure if I should add a few more details or just leave it as is. That’s the big question! What do you think? Should I keep going or call it done? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below😊

Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend! Thanks for stopping by!!
