I'm a self-taught mixed media artist and have been creating art and a positive atmosphere in my life for as long as I can remember. I live in sunny South Florida, which serves as my inspiration for my use of bright fun colors with a whimsical flair.
My goal is to inspire and empower you to find your inner happiness through creativity, as I have in my life. This website includes different tips and techniques that will hopefully inspire your inner muse to create.
Welcome and join me on a wonderful journey in creating art!
While on my holiday break I enjoyed working on inchies for my art journal stash. I love taking these on trips because everything fits inside a small ziploc bag. All you need to bring are the tiles and 2-3 different sized Sakura Micron pens.
I do a little prep work before the trip like cutting the watercolor paper into varying sizes. Then I’ll splash paint on a handful of tiles while leaving the rest plain. That’s it! When you have a little spare time, you can create some really interesting and fun pieces of art. There’s no mess and it all easily fits into your purse or bag. I love bringing minimal supplies and creating on trips because it helps to keep the creativity flowing😊 Plus this would also be a great idea for kids to use their creativity on trips!
Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for stopping by!!

“A true artist is not one who is inspired but one who inspires others.” ~Salvador Dali
I hope you enjoyed your holidays. I’m well rested and ready to start creating new fun and interesting art in the studio. I’m also very excited for all the good things to come in this New Year!
Yesterday, January 3, 2024 at 6:04 pm, NASA launched the SPACEX FALCON 9 OVZON-3 Rocket. I happened to be outside with my two furry girls, Rosie and Chanel when I saw the rocket to the north in the dimming night sky.
It was an incredible site!! Especially since Cape Canaveral is a 3 hour drive and approximately 200 miles from my home. The sky was fairly clear and I could see a large amount of what looked like smoke in the sky. Then the rocket separated into 2 pieces. One continued to outer space and the other piece flew in the opposite direction.
On board this launch vehicle was a communication satellite for the Sweden based Ovzon. This was the first privately funded Swedish satellite that was launched. The mission will send the Ovzon-3 satellite to a geostationary orbit which is a circular orbit above the Earth’s equator and is ideal for communication satellites.
Hopefully, by mid 2024 the satellite will be fully operational. The goal is for it to operate without relying on ground segment and therefore it will be resistant to jamming or other intrusive operations.
I added a few new pages to my Simplest Things Journal before taking my break. I had 4 similar tiles and wanted to make them a home in my journal. These first two were quite interesting. I kept waffling the idea of merging the two designs, I twirled and flipped and flipped and twirled the tiles until I came up with this layout.
I ended up extending the patterns from the tiles into the journal to make them look like they merged into one. I thought it turned out pretty cool looking. So I did a similar design with the next two tiles shown below. Although these two weren’t merging I extended the design from the tiles into the journal. Plus I didn’t want to cover up all the sparkly glitter ✨
Well I’m off taking and taking a much needed break but I’ll be back after the holidays.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and all the Best for the coming New Year!!! Thank you so much for your love support, it means the world to me!!!
I needed a change of pace so I went to my art journals. I got carried away with this one and went crazy with color. The paint was flying in the studio as the colors exploded off the pages. I think I had more paint on me than in my journal😂
I added some wording to each page and it was just really good medicine, exactly what I needed. That’s the beauty of journaling, it doesn’t need to be neat or pretty. It can be a total explosion of color. It can be anything you want it to be!
So if you find you have some time over the holidays, take a much needed break and just have some fun. You’ll be less stressed and much happier for it!!
Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for stopping by!!

As you know I’m a collector of inspiring quotes and came across this quote by Marilyn Monroe which is featured on one of my watercolor art journaling pages. It’s a gentle reminder to be true to yourself and be uniquely you as only you can be!
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”~Marilyn Monroe

While on vacation quite a few years ago, I came upon this delightful book by Cicely Mary Barker, “The Complete Book of the Flower Fairies.” I love rhyming poems and fell in love with her beautiful illustrations and magical words.
Cicely Mary Barker was born June 28, 1895 in West Croydon, Surrey England. Because she suffered from epilepsy Cicely was educated at home but she mostly taught herself to draw and paint. Her father was an accomplished artist and encouraged her artistic talent. He enrolled her at Croydon Art Society when she was only 13 years old.
At the age of 16, Cicely had her first work accepted for publication as a set of postcards. From there she devoted her time to painting. Pre-Raphaelites greatly influenced her and she believed in “truth in nature.” Cicely painted from life whenever possible and even enlisted the help of the staff at Kew Gardens to help identify plants. She carefully studied and painted their every detail with great accuracy. The fairies were also painted from life and modelled from the children at her sister’s nursery school. Once the paintings were complete, she then wrote a poem for the illustration.
“The Complete Book of the Flower Fairies,” was first published in 1923 and was well received by all, especially because of the fascination with fairies at the time and her vision of innocence.
Cicely passed away February 16, 1973 in a Worthing Hospital, England at the age of 77. One hundred years after the publication of her book, it continues to delight all.
I highly recommend you check out her site at FlowerFairies.com where you learn more about her and purchase giftware items showcasing her stunning paintings. Copies of this book are available on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble, however the dust jacket may be different.
Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for stopping by!!
