Most of you may recognize this little guy from my journal. He looks like he’s not quite ready for the holidays, sounds like me this year, lol.
I brought him to life on a 6×6 inch square canvas. He’s painted with acrylic paints and sealed with a matte finish. I added a little glitter for that Christmas magic and is is available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.

I really love painting these canvases. This is a fun and whimsical pink Christmas tree painted in acrylics. I added glitter for a little Christmas magic. This is a 4 inch square canvas that’s 3/4″ inches thick and is available in my Etsy Shop.

I was finally able to finish my whimsical mini Christmas ornament painting. It’s a 5 inch square canvas that’s 3/4″ inches thick and painted with acrylic paints.
I’m having fun creating these cute mini paintings. This is a whimsical snowman painted with acrylic paints on a 4 x 6 inch panel. I added 2 eyelets in the top corners to hang with ribbon. He would look nice on a tree or just hung on a wall as holiday decoration.
This is a new mini whimsical painting I made for Christimas. It’s a 5 inch square canvas that’s 3/4″ inches thick and it’s painted with acrylic paints. It’s a little big to be an ornament but is great for some holiday cheer.
I took an online course from Jodi Ohl, Holiday Ornaments and was inspired with some fun ideas. This is a cute little whimsical painting that I made. It’s a 4 inch square canvas but it’s 3/4 inches thick so I’m not sure that I want to make this into an ornament. Although it still could be, but I think I’ll keep it as a mini painting.
It will be up for sale in my Etsy Shop later this week.

Most of you know I recently participated in Jodi Ohl’s Color Lovers Challenge. Since I used a canvas for Day 24, Red & Green, I saved a place in my journal to come back to and this is what I ended up with.
This journal spread really makes me laugh. The poor little red bird doesn’t seem too happy with the notes the little green one is belting out. He’s almost looks like he’s freaked out by it 😂
With that said, I chose this quote from an unknown author that I thought went well: “No matter what people think of you, always keep singing your own song.”
I joined Jodi Ohl’s Color Lovers Challenge which runs 30 days. We’re in the home stretch with just a few more days to go!! If you missed my earlier creations, I’ll have links at the bottom of this post. These are my latest creations:
Day 22 – Winter
I painted a watercolor snowman for winter, it was the first thing that came to my mind, lol. I made the trees out of paper I previously made and decorated them with garland and baubles. I added a quote by Lucuis Annaeus Seneca: “True happiness is… to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future.”
Day 23 – Analogous Colors
For this prompt I used a violet/blue, blue and green/blue for the painting. I was short on time so I had to get this done pretty quick. I played with lettering and added glitter for a little bling.
Day 24 – Red and Green
When I think of red and green, my mind goes straight to Christmas and the holiday season. I made an 8×10 canvas with acrylic paints, added stamped images and Christmas cut outs and accented it with gold ribbon.
Day 25 – Excitement
Today’s prompt is excitement and my mind goes to fireworks and all the shimmering sparks in the night sky. Although my art may not necessarily evoke a feeling of excitement for the viewer, I can assure you that I was very excited as I played with new techniques and mediums. I had so much fun with this one.⠀

Day 14 – Forest/Mountains/Grass
I painted this a while ago in watercolor but thought it went well with the prompt.
Day 15 – Flowers
I decided to do a loose watercolor painting of flowers and of course couldn’t resist adding glitter for a little bling 😉 I added a quote by Henry David Thoreau which I love “This World is but a canvas for our Imagination.”
Day 16 – Sad
I had a hard time with this one because when I looked at all of my paint colors, they’re all bright and happy. That’s not a bad thing but definitely made it hard to paint “Sad.” ⠀ So this was my take on it, an abstract watercolor, kind of a stormy day. I added a quote by Vivian Greene “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”⠀
Day 17 – Candy
Yesterday’s prompt was candy and with the holiday season fast approaching, the only thing that came to mind was a candy cane which I love. So I painted this in watercolor and added a little quote, “Candy Cane Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses.”

I think we can all agree, 2020 is a year we will not soon forget. But the New Year has begun and it’s filled with endless possibilities. More importantly these possibilities will be a direct result of the choices that are made.
When you think about it, our lives all boil down to the choices we’ve made through the years. There are the good choices we’ve made when everything was simply peachy. Then there are those choices that when we look back, we question what the heck were we thinking at that time. It would be great if we had a crystal ball to see how things would turn out based on our choices. But where’s the fun in that?
I strongly feel that in the “not so great choices that are made” are important lessons to be learned. Sometimes the lessons are revealed quickly while other times, it just takes a while before it shows itself to you.
Make 2021 a Great Year! Be patient and kind to yourself, as well as with others. Do the best that you can. When faced with adversity, take a minute to breathe deep before responding harshly. Make the choice to have a positive enlightening day! Turn those days into a week, month and year!!
“May your choices reflect your hopes not your fears.” Nelson Mandela
