✨ New Mini Holiday Paintings: “Love Lives Here” and “Lil Red” ✨

Featured

The holiday season has officially arrived in my studio, and I’m so excited to share two brand-new 4×4-inch Christmas paintings that are full of sparkle, warmth, and joy!

These mini originals may be small in size, but they’re big on holiday cheer — perfect for gifting, decorating cozy corners, or adding a handmade touch to your festive décor.

🏠 “Love Lives Here”

Bring a touch of Christmas magic to your home with “Love Lives Here,” a whimsical little blue house nestled between a cheerful Christmas tree and a friendly snowman. Floating gold hearts fill the sky, reminding us that love truly makes a home shine.

Hand-painted in happy shades of yellow, blue, green, pink, and white — and sprinkled with a touch of glitter for extra holiday sparkle — this piece radiates warmth and joy. It’s ready to hang with a festive ribbon and makes a thoughtful Secret Santa gift, stocking stuffer, or keepsake to treasure year after year.

🐦 “Lil Red”

Meet “Lil Red,” a bright and curious red bird gazing up at a glowing North Star against a lush green background. Inspired by my own special friendship with a red cardinal who visits me daily, this painting captures the beauty of small moments and the spirit of connection that makes the holidays so special.

Each brushstroke is filled with love and color — from the rich reds and greens to soft white and golden accents that make the little bird glow. “Lil Red” is also ready to hang with a festive ribbon and sealed for lasting beauty.

🎁 Perfect for Gifting or Decorating

Both mini paintings are original, hand-painted works of art — no prints or reproductions here! At just 4×4 inches, they’re ideal for desks, shelves, or cozy nooks, and they come safely packaged and ready to gift. Whether you’re looking for a unique handmade present, a cheerful Secret Santa surprise, or simply something special to brighten your own space, these minis are made to spread joy.

✨ Celebrate the Season with Art & Heart

The holidays are all about love, connection, and little moments that make us smile. “Love Lives Here” and “Lil Red” were created to capture that spirit — in a small, heartfelt way.

Smash Book

With the holidays fast approaching I wanted to share with you a fun and beautiful handmade gift idea. A smash book is like a scrapbook combined with an art journal. It’s a place to keep all of your memories of everything and anything that matters to you without much concern for neatness. It’s a place to keep postcards, movie and concert tickets, favorite quotes, photos or anything else you can think of. You can add doodles, thoughts or just memorabilia but it’s up to you.

The base of this was a chipboard book to which I adhered decorative papers from Paris themed paper stack. You can add fun pockets, envelopes, create index cards, tags and all kinds of fun things, just use your imagination. They’re so much fun to make and the best part is you can customize the book for the recipient making it the perfect gift that will be treasured for years to come!

Hope this inspires you to create a handmade gift this year, thanks for stopping by!!!

Thoughtful Thursday Autumn Essential Oil Blends

Photo by Alice AliNari on Pexels.com

There is something magical about Autumn when she begins to show herself. The long hot days of summer slowly begin to fade and are replaced with long cool nights. Breezes begin to sweep in and the leaves change their colors and fall like brightly colored pieces of confetti.

There are many ways to bring the ever delightful scents of the outdoors into your home to create a blissful and serene ambience. One of my favorite ways is to use a mixture of essential oils in a diffuser and allow the tantalizing autumn scents to drift throughout my home.

The enchanting scents can have a calming affect on your mind which makes them that much better, plus they’re natural too. These are a few fall diffuser blends I found online at HelloGlow.co created by Stephanie Gerber. I highly recommend visiting her site which contains a wealth of information including 25 essential blends for autumn, how to make your own diffuser and what you can expect with the different blends. If you’re new to this idea, start with 1 or 2 recipes and see how you like it.

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by!!

Thoughtful Thursday Fall Essential Oil Blends

Living in the South you don’t get to enjoy a lot of the autumn colors and scents so I’m always looking for ways to bring the warmth of the season into my home. One of my favorite ways is to use a diffuser and add drops of essential oils to make some of the most tantalizing autumn scents.

The fragrant oils can affect your mood and give you a sense of complete joy and harmony. They may even bring back some wonderful memories. There are a lot of premixed synthetic oils but most are full with harmful chemicals. Plus many people can’t tolerate them and that’s why essential oils are great because they’re natural.

These are a few fall diffuser blends I found online. If you don’t have a diffuser I would recommend buying one. You can check out the websites below for recommendations or Amazon has plenty to choose from with reviews to help you find the best one. But don’t go crazy buying lots of essential oils. Pick 1 or 2 blends from the choices below and start with that to see what you like. Let me know how it goes.

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by!!

Slow Pace of Autumn

Hard to believe that autumn is officially here today. It’s the time of year to slow down and really take in the beauty of the season. Before long, Mother Nature will repaint her canvas from beautiful greens to stunning hues of yellow, red, orange and brown. Gentle breezes begin to roll in and rustle the fallen leaves bringing much needed cooler temps.

We bid farewell to summer as we watch the days become shorter and nights become longer. We get our warm comfy sweaters out, light a few candles and settle in for the season. It’s a time to rest, reflect and finish what’s needed.

Although here in the South we don’t really see a change in this breathtaking season, I bring warmth into our home by decorating for fall. Being an avid baker the sweet scents of pumpkin, apple and cinnamon fill our home making it even more cozy. How do you spend your autumn months?

Wishing you a peaceful autumn season filled with joy, love and good health!

Choices

I think we can all agree, 2020 is a year we will not soon forget. But the New Year has begun and it’s filled with endless possibilities. More importantly these possibilities will be a direct result of the choices that are made.

When you think about it, our lives all boil down to the choices we’ve made through the years. There are the good choices we’ve made when everything was simply peachy. Then there are those choices that when we look back, we question what the heck were we thinking at that time. It would be great if we had a crystal ball to see how things would turn out based on our choices. But where’s the fun in that?

I strongly feel that in the “not so great choices that are made” are important lessons to be learned. Sometimes the lessons are revealed quickly while other times, it just takes a while before it shows itself to you.

Make 2021 a Great Year! Be patient and kind to yourself, as well as with others. Do the best that you can. When faced with adversity, take a minute to breathe deep before responding harshly. Make the choice to have a positive enlightening day! Turn those days into a week, month and year!!
