Photo by Jonathan Borba on Pexels.com

Love comes in many forms, and so do the ways to express it! Whether you want to brighten someone’s day or make a lasting impression, here are 14 heartfelt, quirky, and fun ways to say “I love you.”

1. A Handwritten Note

In a world of texts and emails, a simple handwritten note feels extra special. Slip it into a lunch bag or under a pillow for a sweet surprise.

2. Cook Their Favorite Meal

They say the way to the heart is through the stomach! Prepare their favorite dish with extra care and a dash of love.

3. Leave a Sticky Note Trail

Leave cute messages on sticky notes leading from the front door to a surprise waiting for them.

4. Create a Personalized Playlist

Gather songs that remind you of them or tell your love story. Music speaks when words fall short.

5. Offer a Warm Hug

Sometimes the simplest gestures say the most. A long, cozy hug can be the perfect silent “I love you.”

6. Do Their Least Favorite Chore

Show you care by tackling a task they dread. It’s love in action!

7. Send a Surprise Delivery

Whether it’s flowers, their favorite snacks, or a small gift, an unexpected delivery is always delightful.

8. Share a Memory

Remind them of a funny or sweet moment you shared. It’s a wonderful way to relive the joy of your connection.

9. Give a Compliment—From the Heart

A heartfelt compliment about what makes them special can brighten their whole day.

10. Leave a Surprise Love Token

Hide a small gift or token of affection where they’ll find it—like a bookmark in their current read.

11. Plan an Adventure

Organize a surprise outing to a place they’ve been wanting to visit.

12. Write a Poem or Song

Even if it’s silly, putting your feelings into words is always charming.

13. Take Time to Listen

Giving someone your full attention is a powerful way to show love.

14. Say It Out Loud

There’s no substitute for a genuine “I love you.” Look them in the eye, say it with feeling, and watch their face light up.

You don’t need to wait for Valentine’s Day to share how you feel. Love isn’t about grand gestures or expensive gifts—it’s the little things, filled with thought and heart, that often leave the biggest impact. Which of these ideas will you try today?

Studio Update Yello’s BIG Solo

This is a new 4×12 inch canvas I finished over the weekend. It’s an adorable painting with a textured background and 5 beautiful little birds. Instead of painting flowers I thought it would be fun to add more interest and accent this piece by using paper flowers and leaves. I also added a quote “Sing your song.”

Since this is painted on a 1.5 inch thick canvas, this artwork is ideal as a shelf sitter making it the perfect décor for a desk, shelf or counter but can also be hung on the wall.

‘Yello’s BIG Solo’ is available in my Etsy Shop, if interested.

Hope this inspires you today, thanks for stopping by!!

Studio Update – Expressions of Love

I’ve been working on creating a new design for the Expressions of Love Collection and this is what I came up with. It’s an organic design with beautiful hearts, outlined in glistening gold. I collaged a paper doily to the background for a bit of romance and it can be seen on each heart.

These 3 paintings were created on 1.5 inch thick canvases making them ideal as a shelf sitter and the perfect décor for a desk, shelf or counter. Plus they can also be hung on the wall. They will all be up in my Etsy Shop by the end of this weekend.

Below is a time lapse process video of me painting a layer on the Rose Pink Heart. I’m working on getting over my camera shyness 😅

Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic weekend!!

Thoughtful Thursday Outward Hound Slow Feeder Bowl Review

Chanel (brown), Rosie (black)

As most of you know I’m the mom of two precious little girls, Chanel and Rosie. These two are angels most of the time, well Chanel is all of the time. But Rosie loves to get into mischief every now and then.

Chanel is 11 years old and has been completely blind since she was 3. Rosie the 1+ year old baby, a quick learner, figured out Chanel’s handicap and would sometimes steal her food. As a result, Chanel started gobbling her food and would end up getting sick.

It took some training but Rosie rarely snatches Chanel’s food anymore. However, Chanel isn’t taking any chances and continues to gobble. So I came across this “Slo Bowl” by Outward Hound. The idea is that it makes your pet slow down their eating and take smaller bites. This in turn helps with their digestion and can also help prevent obesity and bloating.

We’ve used this bowl it for about 2 weeks and it’s works great! Chanel is doing much better and is noticeably eating a lot slower and not getting sick.

There are many different types of slow feeder bowls on the market. Some have a more complex design making your pet slow down their eating even more. But I opted for this one and I’m so glad I did. It’s a breeze to clean and is also dishwasher safe. Plus it has a non-slip base, holds 2 cups of dry or wet food and is made from food safe materials (Free From: BPA, PVC, Lead and Phthalate). It also comes in 2 sizes, Large/Regular and Medium/Mini depending on the size of your pet.

Some pet owners reported that using a slow feeder bowl made their pet frustrated. Chanel has been absolutely fine and isn’t showing any signs of frustration eating from this particular bowl. For some pets it make take a little time to retrain their minds but overall this is a great invention and helps to improve your pet’s health. These bowls are available in most local pet stores and online: Chewy, Amazon, Target, Walmart.

I would recommend this product for your pet, but always talk with your vet first if you have any concerns.

Thoughtful Thursday Autumn Essential Oil Blends

Photo by Alice AliNari on Pexels.com

There is something magical about Autumn when she begins to show herself. The long hot days of summer slowly begin to fade and are replaced with long cool nights. Breezes begin to sweep in and the leaves change their colors and fall like brightly colored pieces of confetti.

There are many ways to bring the ever delightful scents of the outdoors into your home to create a blissful and serene ambience. One of my favorite ways is to use a mixture of essential oils in a diffuser and allow the tantalizing autumn scents to drift throughout my home.

The enchanting scents can have a calming affect on your mind which makes them that much better, plus they’re natural too. These are a few fall diffuser blends I found online at HelloGlow.co created by Stephanie Gerber. I highly recommend visiting her site which contains a wealth of information including 25 essential blends for autumn, how to make your own diffuser and what you can expect with the different blends. If you’re new to this idea, start with 1 or 2 recipes and see how you like it.

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by!!

Thoughtful Thursday – Show Dad Your Love

I can’t believe that Father’s Day will already be here this Sunday, June 18th. This is a special day to celebrate those great dads who are here with us today and also to honor and remember those who are no longer with us.

Dads have a unique style all of their own in how they handle life and teach us what they know. I learned so much from my dad and he was the one who inspired me to create art. My love for photography, roses and birds all came from him. So how will you show your love to that great man?

Here are a few ideas for Father’s Day:

  • Make a handmade card with a personal photo.
  • Make a photo collage of memorable moments.
  • Have an outdoor celebration in the park, beach or your own backyard.
  • Take dad out on a sporting adventure of his choice.
  • Go camping for a night.
  • Cook his favorite dinner.
  • Have a backyard movie night.
  • Build something fun together.
  • Spend an evening star gazing.
  • Spend a nice day together talking about fun memories.
  • Take him on a fun road trip.
  • Go to a sports game together.
  • Tour a vineyard or brewery.

Wishing all Dad’s a very Happy Father’s Day!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Thoughtful Thursday – Give Mom a Gift that Touches her Heart 💖

Photo by Josh Willink on Pexels.com

Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 14th. Often we take for granted all the wonderful things that mom’s do for us everyday. Like the pile of clean clothes that magically appear in your dresser or the sweet love note with encouraging words that are hidden in your lunch bag. What about the breakfast or dinner that’s ready to go just when you’re starving, in a rush and don’t have time to make anything for yourself. Let’s not forget all the love and support they give as the biggest fan of our lives!

This Mother’s Day give her a gift that touches her heart. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Spend the day with her doing her favorite things.
  • Serve her favorite home cooked meal on a beautifully decorated table.
  • Create a themed meal from a place that she wants to visit.
  • Bake her favorite sweet treats and serve them up bistro style.
  • Plan a walk or hike in her favorite park and enjoy the great outdoors.
  • Go to the nursery with her and get a few flowers to plant in her garden.
  • Take her on a picnic and spend a quiet afternoon talking.
  • Go on a nice bike ride and stop for a light bite.
  • Spend an afternoon at the local museum.
  • If she has a lot of responsibilities offer to pitch in and give her the day off.
  • Serve her breakfast in bed or cook a morning brunch.
  • Watch her favorite movies with her and bring all of her favorite snacks.
  • Take an art class with her, whether online or in person and create something together.
  • Make a scrapbook filled with all of your favorite memories and photos of her.
  • Make her a handmade card or mini book with special photos or memorabilia.
  • If you’re computer savvy, create a video slide show of your favorites times spent together.
  • Make her a spa basket with handmade treatments (plenty of recipes can be found online).

Get creative, put a little extra thought into it and give her a special gift from your heart!
